Sharing recipes

Recipes can be put into named collections and shared with another household by email — a way to hand someone your recipes without giving them access to your whole group.

Creating a collection

From the Recipes page, tap Share recipes, then the + button to start a new collection. Give it a name and add recipes to it from the search field — the same recipes already in your group’s own recipe list.

Sharing it

Open a collection, enter the email address you want to share it with, and tap Share. The offer is tied to that email address whether or not it belongs to an existing account yet — if they haven’t signed up, the offer just waits until they do.

Accepting an offer

The person you shared with sees it on their profile page, under Recipes shared with you, the next time they sign in (or sign up) with that email. A red ! appears on the profile icon whenever a share offer — or a group invite — is waiting for an answer. From there they can Accept or Decline it.

What accepting does

Once accepted, the collection’s recipes show up among the recipient’s own — read-only, and always reflecting your current version of them, including any changes you make later. They also appear in their calendar and shopping list wherever they’re planned, the same as any other recipe.

Ending a share

Either side can stop sharing at any time — you from the collection’s own page, they from their profile under Shared recipes. Ending it removes those recipes from the recipient’s household, including from anything they’d already planned with them on the calendar or shopping list.
